Biometrics is the technique
of studying the physical characteristics of a
person such as your fingerprint, eye structure,
hand geometry and voice pattern.
Biometric Security is the much more secure way
of authentication than the typing passwords or
using smart cards.
In biometric system person is been register with
the biometric security system when one or more
of his physiological characteristics are obtained,
processed by a numerical algorithm, and entered
into a database. When he logs in, all of his features
match 100%; then when someone else tries to log
in, the person does not match fully and the system
doesn't allow him to log in.
Biometric recognition technologies are finding
increasing use across a wide range of market sectors
such as access control, airport, ATMs, Banking,
Time attendance, PC access, web access and many
more.
